YAO Human Meridian Atlas - sources and limitations ================================================ Scope: 361 classical point identities, 12 primary meridians plus Ren and Du. The 309 paired identities and 52 midline identities produce 670 sites. This is a model-based educational reconstruction. Clinical review: pending. It does not show internal meridian branches, needling depths or trajectories, extra acupoints outside the classical 361, or a female reference anatomy. This skin mesh was obtained from the official current archive: https://dbarchive.biosciencedbc.jp/data/bodyparts3d/LATEST/isa_BP3D_4.0_obj_99.zip FJ2810.obj / FMA7163 skin, adult male. FJ3289 mandible used for registration. Modifications: mm to metres; rigid coordinate registration from mandible bounds; axis conversion to Y-up; exact vertex welding; normals; binary glTF. No textures or clinical needle paths are included. Citation: Mitsuhashi et al., BodyParts3D: 3D structure database for anatomical concepts. No WHO or other textbook location paragraphs, illustrations, indications or methods copied. YAO's 54 existing point descriptions remain unchanged and take precedence. WHO standard location reference: https://iris.who.int/handle/10665/353407 Nomenclature aliases: TE=SJ, CV=Ren/RN, GV=Du. Display uses TE/CV/GV. KNOWN LIMITS The upstream anchor set mixes measured anatomy, proportional cun, stature fractions and approximate facial offsets. Numerical completeness does not establish clinical accuracy. A single adult male model cannot represent all individuals, body shapes, tissue changes or the different postures used to locate points. Hairline and soft-tissue landmarks are especially variable. The skin has limited auricle, oral and finger detail. A ray that starts just outside the skin is checked inward before nearest-surface projection. Each placement records its method. Nearest-surface results are explicitly flagged in the detail panel. The catalog diagnostics enumerate them. Lines depict reconstructed surface courses. Internal branches and crossing relationships are not inferred from a simple line between numbered points. The fallback mannequin is schematic and its displayed points retain the anatomical model coordinates; the fallback is visibly identified as such. ICONS Lucide ZoomIn, ZoomOut, Scan and RotateCw.
